Conference theme : Education, Economics and Society
Economy has become one of the partners of education nowadays, if not the most important partner. All sectors of education are fundamentally influenced by public education, higher education, vocational and adult education. When we examine these interactions, we must therefore focus on the entire education system. The impact of the economy on education is manifold; it has partly evident, partly latent forms. It becomes apparent in the facilities and equipments of schools as well as in the payment of teachers, in the learning circumstances of children or in the financial situation of the education system. In vocational and higher education, the economy is even more obvious. It is visible in the ‘third mission’ of an institution, in the labor market, in finding and getting jobs, in adapting to the world of labor. The main idea of LLL (lifelong learning) can not be understood without the consideration of the economic environment. Critical pedagogy also point out the conflicts of interests that are arise from the permanent cooperation between the education system and its economic environment.
HuCER 2018, the VIIIth annual conference of the Hungarian Educational Research Association puts the relationship between education, economy and society on the agenda. We invite and welcome presentations and symposia on both (economic) environment of the institutions and the inner world of schools. Particular attention is paid to the changes that are taking place in education today and which reflect the transformation of the economy directly or indirectly, under the umbrella of the so-called ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’. HuCER 2018 will take place in the Kodolányi College, Székesfehérvár, the centre of an emerging ‘learning region’ of Hungary, 24-25 May, 2018. Keynote speaker: Prof. dr.
