Contribution
The mission of ESPERINE is to promote the developing co-operation in the European Research Area (ERA), enrich the discipline specific content of the ‘transeuropean network for scientific communications’ for the field of educational research and to improve its quality by facilitating information exchange with respect to the international progress in research and by systematically supporting research processes. In collaboration with European educational research associations, the project will provide for a sustainable information infrastructure by shared efforts.
The overall objectives are:
•to offer a one-point multilingual access to a set of information resources relevant for European educational research cooperation,
•to develop a focused and better structured information and collaboration environment (e-science platform) for trans-national educational research scenarios based on professional infrastructures and services, common protocols and standards,
•to embed the e-science platform in a set of social software (web 2.0) applications adequate for joint management, pooling and updating of the distributed information communication and collaboration resources and instruments,
•to raise the awareness about the usability and effectiveness of such a common e-science platform within the scientific community of educational researchers in Europe.
