EERA and the Emerging Researchers’ Group (ERG) will grant a number of bursaries for ERC and ECER 2018 for postgraduate students and emerging researchers in order to allow them to participate in this year’s Emerging Researchers’ Conference (ERC) and European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) in Bolzano.

The three types of bursary funds

  1. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of European low GDP countries (including Eastern Europe, Portugal, Greece and Turkey)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2018 Conferences and a 500 € travel bursary.

  2. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of low GDP countries outside Europe (including those from low GDP countries studying in high GDP countries)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2018 Conferences and a 500 € travel bursary.

You can find a list of low GDP countries here.

  3. Partial bursaries for students and recent graduates from Italy
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2018 Conferences only.

Terms and Conditions

  • Only authors of proposals that were submitted to and are accepted for presentation at the Emerging Researchers' Conference will be awarded the bursary.
  • Only one bursary (including the one free ERC/ECER entry) will be awarded per proposal. Therefore, if co-authors apply and both are awarded a bursary, they would have to decide amongst themselves how they would share the single award.
  • Former bursary winners will not be considered.
  • Bursary applicants need to be prepared to attend both ERC and ECER.
  • If you are unable to attend, the bursary will be awarded to the next person on the list.
  • If awarded an EERA Bursary, you will submit relevant documentation as requested by the EERA Office before 12pm on the last day of ECER 2018.
  • Payment of the bursary will only be done after the conference (usually 4 weeks following ERC/ECER) after receipt of the documentation confirming attendance.

    How to Apply

Also, please note further information about how to apply, award criteria and the documentation required for the online application process can be found here.

The application process will start after the general submission deadline for the conference. Authors of proposals submitted to ERC will then receive an invitation email.
