EERA and the Emerging Researchers’ Group (ERG) will grant 30 bursaries for ERC and ECER 2017 for postgraduate students and emerging researchers in order to allow them to participate in this year’s Emerging Researchers’ Conference (ERC) and European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) in Copenhagen.

There are three types of bursary funds:

  1. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of European low GDP countries (including Eastern Europe, Portugal, Cyprus, Spain and Greece)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2017 Conferences and a 500 € travel bursary.
  2. Bursaries for students and recent graduates who are nationals of low GDP countries outside Europe (including those from low GDP countries studying in high GDP countries)
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2017 Conferences and a 500 € travel bursary.
You can find a list of low GDP countries here.
  3. Partial bursaries for students and recent graduates from Denmark
This Bursary includes: free entry to the ERC and ECER 2017 Conferences only.

Please note the following:

  • Only authors of proposals that were submitted to and are accepted for presentation at the Emerging Researchers' Conference will be awarded the Bursary
  • Only one bursary (including the one free ERC/ECER entry) will be awarded per proposal, therefore, if co-authors apply, they would have to decide amongst themselves how they would share the full award
  • Former bursary winners will not be considered
  • If you are unable to attend, the bursary will be granted to the next on the list
  • If you are only planning to attend the Emerging Researchers’ Conference, but not ECER, you are not eligible.

Also, please note that you will have to prepare the following documents for the online application process:

  • A motivational text, outlining your financial situation, the benefits of attending the conference and why you need to be funded
  • A letter of support from your supervisor
  • Your CV
  • A copy of your passport.

The Emerging Researchers’ Conference Bursaries 2017 will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the proposal submitted to ERC
  • Need for financial support presented in motivational text
  • Priority will be given to PhD students.

The application process will start after the general submission deadline for the conference. Authors of proposals submitted to ERC will then receive an invitation email.
