EERA and the University of Porto invite researchers to hand in proposals for ECER 2014.
In 2014 EERA is celebrating its 20th anniversary. This event offers an excellent opportunity to look back on the development and impact of educational research in Europe – as well as looking forward to its future. The EERA/ECER conference in Porto 2014 provides a time and space for the educational research community to be self-reflexive – to evaluate its strengths, weaknesses and possibilities.
Conference dates: 1 - 5 September 2014
Submission time ends: 1 February 2014
Network 17 (Histories of Education) is preparing a special e-publication to mark the 20th anniversary in 2014 of the foundation of EERA. We would like to commission scholars from the twenty-eight countries that currently make up EERA to produce a small ‘essay’ or conversation piece of around 500 words on education in their country (in the largest possible sense of the word) based on the content of one or two photographs. The photographs will have been taken at any time from the late nineteenth century up to the late twentieth century. These small essays and the respective photographs would then be published in the form of an e-book. Education across Europe - a photographic conversation read more
EERA's Agenda for 'Horizon 2020' calls for a broader and more inclusive strategy to address Europe's societal and economic challenges: "[T]he challenges described in H2020 are not only challenges for societies at large; they arise at the level of community, family and personal life. [...] Education can help bridge the gap between these global challenges and the responsibility and competence of citizens of all ages to act locally". EERA's Agenda for 'Horizon 2020' read more
